Back in 1696, Dutch East India Company chose West Java to be the first location in Indonesia for coffee cultivation. At that time, it was the first coffee cultivation site in Southeast Asia. This resulted in the first export of Java Preanger coffee beans in 1711. Java Preanger coffee became so well-received that the term “Java” gradually became synonymous with coffee.

The high elevation, rainfall and cooler temperature of the western region of the island contribute significantly to the flavor profile of this coffee. Unlike coffee beans cultivated in the eastern region, those from Java Preanger naturally have sweeter and fruitier flavors, medium acidity with aftertaste of spices.

Medium-dark roast brings out the sweeter and fruitier flavors along with lingering spices aftertaste, as well as subtle buttery and nutty notes.

Brewing Method: Tear off the filter paper along perforated line, place the hanger on the cup. Pour hot water (91-96c) to wet the coffee, then slowly pour remaining hot water (Best served with +/- 200ml hot water for perfect taste)
